as a warning, this is an attempt to get me into the swing of actually writing and not sitting on my ass all day, so this is going to be a bit scattered and aimless! I'm looking for a feel on how I'll be going about it, but as of now I'm definitly sloppy and I like to tangent, which to be fair reflects how I talk in real life ! oh well !!!
if I haven't made it obvious by now to the people who have been following me for a while, I'm from chicago. I love the city, I love its culture. I love walking down the street to see children playing hop scotch with the mailman. I love stmubling onto an alleyway thrash show by some band I've never heard of. I love how many busses and trains there are here. I love seeing people having unregulated dance parties in mcdonalds parking lots wearing scream masks (this actually happened while I went to see the recent Super Wrestlers event and I wish I recorded. a dude walked past and cheared them on it was cool as fuck). I love seeing convoys of cars on random days waving pride and native country flags, or calling for ceasefires and mutual aid. it's a living city full of loving people through and through. the time I was at the BLM protests in 2020 was when it shined brightest for me. city life may not be everyone's thing, but being born into it definitly helped me enjoy its quirks.

I have family across the chicagoland area, but I live in the city proper. sometimes when I visit I take a few photos of the area, since it was a major childhood neighborhood for me, but I don't really snap pics in the area outside of that. actually, fun fact, I've actually never photographed the place I live. it helps with privacy! especailly when you're a public figure. though that hasn't stopped people in the city from recognizing me from the projects I've worked on. but that's probably something unavoidable when I don't mind showing my face. here's me showing my face again.

I also only ever post photos I've taken a few months after I've left the area at minimum. I still got some from a couple years ago I should upload... anyways, I've lived in Chicago since I was born. so I have a lot of attachment to here! I've been across most of the US, but this will forever be my home. I find it to not only be a queer safe space and have a major queer community (at time of writing. trump is currently trying to challenge that with the NATIONAL GUARD so no idea if it will last sadly.), not only do I have many, many memories here, not only does this place have Culvers and their food is delicious, but the diy music scene here is where I came from. I've learned so many recording techniques, gotten so much advice, and love from the people here! remember folks, basement shows hosted by trans people will always result in you unlocking knowledge. please get up with the queer scene in chicago. we get up to AMAZING things.
generally speaking, I move all over the midwest. I enjoy trying the food, and listening to and finding new bands along the way! not to mention the occasional awesome weather! I'm a major fan of severe weather and I NEED to do some storm chasing at least once. with a professional. I Will Die If I Do It Alone I'm Not Very Smart Nor Safe. but that's neither here nor there at the moment.
THE MAIN POINT IS. I like where I'm at. I'm growing content. I really hope that it lasts for as long as it can. and I hope chicago continues to be the safe place it is for people like me to thrive. thanks for listening to my rambling.
